While on a bike ride from Bury to Bolton we took the opportunity to have a look at Bolton Greyhound stadium. It was because of an advisement in a Bolton chippy window for a Christmas meeting in 1992 that got me back in to BriSCA F1 stock car racing after a brake of 5 years since the old Belle Vue shut. Below are some pictures we took of how it is now (18/12/05) and some that Jon took in the early 90's.

Left - I think this is 1992/3 - Lundy is chasing Jnr - Jnr is in his Lintern special, with Lundy in his self built car - however this also had a Lintern back end. You needed the Lintern setup at this time to get anywhere on tarmac. Below left - Steve "Budgie" Burgess 389 on a rare outing on tarmac. This was also at Bolton round 92/93, the picture was taken on turn 3. Mike Heywood 424 is on the inside. Below - Whites and Yellows negotiate turns 1 and 2 at Bolton. |
